Happy Halloween!

This morning as I was preparing to leave work, my boss came in dressed as Fred Flintstone carrying various paraphernalia to transform a wheelchair into a Flintstonemobile, which I thought was a pretty cute idea if one wanted to go to that effort.

My costume? Tired nurse. I plan to spend most of my Halloween resting up for quartet practice and tonight's shift, so I think my Tinkerbelle nightie will work just fine and I won't even have to go door-to-door to score my favorite Tootsie Rolls, thanks to my kids (Princess Peach, the 10th Doctor and a punk Red Riding Hood) who will share their spoils with Mama. Works for me.

Happy Halloween!

New blog. WT.....

Greetings!
It isn't without some misgiving that I begin a new blog since I have a perfectly functioning one elsewhere, but I wanted to start this new venture with a fresh slate and a new focus. PenguinPapers is my attempt to be funny, or wry, or whatever you want to call it, but this is where I will maybe not try to be so funny as real. You'll occasionally find blatherings at PenguinPapers, but this will be my new blogging home.

You'll notice that the title, The Debbie Downer Lexicon, is well, a downer, and when I created it, I thought that I would choose a word each post to write on, something pulled out of my head as a way to sort through the muck that is my psyche, but as time goes on it may evolve into something else. Besides, everyone has some kind of brain muck going on - I certainly don't have the market cornered on muck.

But then I could be entirely wrong. You just never know about these things.

So, welcome! Take off your shoes and stay a while.
